As we quickly approach another Red Hat Summit, it’s time to take a minute to reflect on the year that was since we last gathered in Boston May 2023. For me personally, that has meant the addition of a new baby girl, the emergence of a free-spirited toddler in the household, and the continued decline of my golf game due to the aforementioned.

On the professional front, it has been another banner year for the adoption of Red Hat OpenShift and Portworx, with continued growth of OpenShift and Portworx as the standard for running and managing business critical applications, and their data, in production across the Global 2000. In addition to Portworx by Pure Storage being named A Leader in Container Data Management by IDC, this growth has been underpinned by two major trends that have caused enterprises to consider new use cases and opportunities for running and scaling applications, and their data, on OpenShift and Portworx:

  • AI-enabled Applications: The emergence of Gen AI tools like ChatGPT, PerplexityAI, Google Gemini, and many others, has spotlighted a trend that was already exploding under the surface. The rapid adoption of Generative AI and LLM-based applications, many built on Kubernetes and OpenShift AI, being used to drive innovations ranging from customer experience to drug discovery to retail and manufacturing.
  • VMware Acquisition: Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware has created a level of uncertainty in the market and across enterprises as they look to make long-term platform decisions. With changes in the licensing and operating model, enterprises are looking for flexibility in their virtualization approach to mitigate the uncertainty, risk, and cost pressure being felt in the C-Suite. In fact, according to Gartner “through 2028 disruption in the server virtualization market will result in more than 60% of enterprises accelerating their public cloud migrations and exploring revirtualization of virtual workloads” while Forrester predicts that in 2024, “Twenty percent of VMware enterprise customers will escape the VMware stack.”

This year we are once again excited to be attending and sponsoring the Red Hat Summit as a Gold Sponsor, at Booth 104, for the second year running and our presence is a reflection of these two major trends. We’re excited to highlight the ways Portworx is collaborating with Red Hat to unite Containers and VMs on a single, modern application development platform – delivering key enterprise-grade services like Live Migration, VM Backup and Restore, Disaster Recovery, and more.

We’ll also highlight the ways Portworx is working with OpenShift customers to build and scale AI/ML applications at scale and showcase why, according to IDC, “Organizations that are running or looking to run mission-critical applications, databases, CI/CD tools, or AI/ML workloads in containers will want to consider Portworx by Pure Storage.”

This year at Red Hat Summit we have a number of activities that we hope you’ll participate in:

Booth:
Come visit us at Booth #104 and speak to our experts about the ways in which Portworx and Red Hat can help unite VMs and Containers in a modern application development platform.
