Infrastructure and operations leaders need to map their use cases and deployments preferences, and provide a decision framework for planning and enabling infrastructure delivery. In the 2020 Gartner report “An I&O Leader’s Guide to Storage for Containerized Workloads”, Gartner provides recommendations including:
- Select vendors that have closer integration with Kubernetes and support standard interfaces
- Choose storage solutions aligned with microservices architecture principles and adhere to the requirements of container-native data services
- Select storage products closely aligned with the developer workflow tools
- Assess your vendor’s delivery of continuous innovation, quality customer support and a consistent pricing model
